Gosder Cherilus 10th Annual Football Clinic

For the past 10 years, the Gosder Cherilus Foundation has been hosting a free non-contact football clinic for inner city kids in the Greater Boston Area and Somerville. Our foundation’s primary mission is to improve the lives of underserved and underprivileged populations in the United States and Haiti. Gosder believes in our youth and understands that they’re looking for role models.

Mr. Cherilus provides more detail on his objectives:
“Growing up here, football was a great gateway for myself and many friends as it helped open a lot of doors for us. More than 22 kids from my senior class earned scholarship offers to some of the top universities in Massachusetts and across the country. I would like to use some of the best skill sets that I’ve had the chance to develop during my football days to help many of these children from my community stay off the streets and believe in themselves. My goal is to help them understand the importance of being part of the right team and how much you can accomplish if you believe in great work ethic; discipline; and always being prepared, which are some of my strongest talents.”

This clinic provides great opportunities for kids to learn football and life skills via position drills and playing flag football. It also provides a fantastic mentorship opportunities with some of Gosder’s former and current NFL friends, like Tyronne Pruitt and Demar Dotson, who alongside Mr. Cherilus share their inspirational stories about life and football. Any child age 6-13 can attend the clinic. It will take place at the Joe Moakley Park in South Boston, June 22nd from 8:30 AM until 12:30 PM.

For the second consecutive year, Tasty Burger will be providing the food for clinic attendees. Our newest corporate partner, Pepsi Co., will be providing this year’s beverages.
