About Shanti
Owner Solmon Chowdhury opened Shanti in Dorchester, Massachusetts in 2000 after growing tired of frequently driving into Boston to find authentic Indian cuisine. After adding a second location in 2013 with his wife Rokeya in Roslindale, MA over a decade later, Shanti is still praised as "Boston's Best Indian Cuisine" (2012) by Boston Magazine. The word "Shanti" means peace in Sanskrit. Shanti hopes to transport its guests to a more peaceful place with both the ambiance and the cuisine. At Shanti diners will find more than Indian cuisine, where they can also indulge in Bangladeshi style cooking known as Bhuna. Both locations offer a wide variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Beyond enjoying a unique blend of cuisines, eating at Shanti is an opportunity to learn about a region that is largely unknown to the rest of the world. Shanti is located at 1111 Dorchester Ave. in Dorchester, MA and at 4197 Washington St., in Roslindale, MA. For more information visit shantiboston.com or email [email protected].
