GimmeShelter! St. John’s Coffeehouse to Hold Benefit for FoodLinkMA & Local Musicians in Need
🎸 Food and music, two of life’s essentials, need our support in this time of uncertainty, economic stress, and cancelled gigs! The community is invited to join a virtual “Gimme Shelter!” Coffeehouse fundraiser on Saturday, May 16, from 6-8 pm.
🎸 The event will benefit FoodLinkMA and musicians who have been affected by the Covid-19 crisis. The event will be live-streamed on the St. John’s Coffeehouse Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stjohnsconcerts) and on the YouTube channel (search Coffeehouse Concerts).
🎸 During this online event, musical alumni and friends of the St. John’s Coffeehouse series will offer segments of live or recorded music and conversation with hosts from the local and regional arts community. Viewers will be invited to pop in with questions and comments during the show.
🎸 A donation of $15 is suggested, prepayable at https://www.GimmeShelter.bpt.me, or payable during the show. A banner across the bottom of the screen will explain how to donate online, by mail, or phone. No one will be denied the opportunity to listen in and participate in the show.
🎸 Invited musicians include Odaiko Japanese Drummers, Reggie Harris, Tracy Grammer, Flora Henry, Kukublu African Drummers, Walnut da Lyrical Genie & Ruthann Baler, Vocal Revolution, Copley Cats, Alessio Miraglia, Robin O’Herin, Marylou Ferrante, Stanley & Undercovers, Ensemble 44, Fulani Haynes, David Roth, Shizue Sano, Three at Home, Lara Herscovitch, Bees Deluxe, Big Blue World, Funky Divas of Gospel, Shizue Sano, Kim Jennings, Stanley & The Undercovers, Fate’s Landing, and more!
🎸 St. John’s Coffeehouse plans to resume its 9th year of live concerts later in the year, or as conditions allow. For information, call 781-648-4819, email [email protected], or visit saintjohns-arlington.org/coffeehouse-concerts.
