Come spend the day outside volunteering to support Boston's youth!


At Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center, our mission is to provide middle-school students with a free multi-year sequence of hands-on field science infused with Outward Bound’s unique approach to character development – building resilience, compassion, and leadership.


If this mission speaks to you (and/or you'd love to spend a Spring day on a beautiful Island in the Boston Harbor), please join us for our first ever Open Enrollment Volunteer Day! You will ride our ferry out to Thompson Island, help us maintain our trails, beaches, and campus facilities, learn more about our programs during our Island Tour, and network with like-minded individuals from the Boston area!


Ferry rides, lunches, work gloves and tools, water and snacks are all provided.
