Games of the Ancient Near East: Teen Saturdays Workshop
Saturday, December 13, 1:00–3:30 pm, Advance registration required
Travel back in time and explore some of the world’s oldest board games from the ancient Near East! In this interactive workshop, you'll learn the origins of games like senet, mancala, the Royal Game of Ur, and al-qirkat. Play, win, and learn how strategy and luck have connected people for thousands of years. Whether you love history, puzzles, or friendly competition, this workshop is for you. Come ready to play, learn, and experience ancient fun that still inspires today!
Teen Saturdays Workshops are offered bilingually in Spanish and English and are designed to build community and enrich the museum experience for multicultural and Spanish-speaking teens.
The $10 fee includes free admission to all Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (HMSC) museums immediately following the workshop.
Teens receive an HMSC membership (worth $100) after attending three or more Teen Saturdays Workshops per semester. Or, receive a free admission pass (worth $15) for a return visit if you attend one of the four sessions.
