About Gaga:
Gaga classes are predicated on a deep activation of the body and physical sensations. The instructions are deployed to increase awareness of and further amplify sensation, and rather than turning from one prompt to another, information is layered, building into a multi-sensory, physically challenging experience. Participants awaken numb areas, increase their awareness of habits, improve their efficiency of movement inside multilayered tasks, and are encouraged to connect to pleasure inside moments of effort. The research of Gaga is in a continual process of evolution, and the classes vary and develop accordingly.
About Feldenkrais:
Through guided attention and playful movements, Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lessons engage your whole self to explore the dynamic relationships of how you move and hold yourself. Recreating the way young children learn new motor skills, these classes provide a safe environment to let go of habitual, unconscious, and unnecessary muscular work. Grounded in neuroscience, physics, martial arts, and psychology, the Feldenkrais Method® offers a direct and effective means to attain greater ease, comfort, and stability in all of your physical activities. A regular Feldenkrais practice is great for improving coordination and flexibility, decreasing anxiety and stress, refining performance in your favorite athletic or creative pursuits, as well as injury prevention and recovery.
