About This Workshop

GA is going #OffCampus. At this event, learn what a User Experience Designer does, why it’s a critical role, and how backgrounds of all types can break into the field.

Why it Matters:

User experience is the key to making a product truly great. No amount of advanced technology or beautiful design will matter if the experience of using your website or application isn’t simple, intuitive, and enjoyable. To build that, you must first learn to understand your customers and what they need.

In this introductory workshop, discover the user experience and design thinking landscape, what the role entails, who makes a good user experience (UX) designer, and how to break into the field.

What You’ll Take Away:
- Discover what the field of User Experience encompasses and how it relates to other disciplines
- Learn about the different UX roles and the opportunities within the job market
- A high-level understanding of key concepts such as Sketching, Wireframes, Information Architecture, and User Research
