About This Event

B Corps. Benefit Corporations. You've heard the terms, and maybe seen the Certified B Corp logo on a package. You may even know the topline- B Corps are for-profit companies using business as a force for good. If you're a business owner or leader, does becoming a B Corp make sense for you? As a consumer, job seeker or employee, how can you join the movement?

At this interactive session we'll hear about the growing B Corp movement from Ben Anderson, Chief B Keeper at B Lab (the organization that certifies B Corps and really got this whole movement rolling). Ben oversees the nearly 1000 company strong community of Certified B Corps in North America and serves on the Global Governance Council that stewards the movement globally. We'll then engage in breakouts, led by Emzingo Founder Drew Bonfiglio and Staach Director of Sustainability Anne Sherman, to think through what we know about the practices of our own companies (whether we're business owners or employees). We’ll then discuss possible action steps we may be able to take to make small—or revolutionary—changes that improve our companies' global impact.

About this series:

Old way of thinking: businesses should do whatever they can to maximize profit; doing good is for charities.

Disruption: Entrepreneurs are now disrupting the old thinking and showing that businesses can earn a profit and be a force for positive change at the same time. Over the next few months, DoneGood and General Assembly are teaming up to highlight innovators who are part of a growing movement that’s proving you can build a successful business while also doing good for people and planet.

If you want to discover and support businesses doing the right thing, or are an entrepreneur who wants to create a business that makes a positive impact, join us to learn about these local and national change makers!
