Recently returned from a tour of the San Francisco Bay Area, the group has been presenting original music and fresh takes on classic songs in Massachusetts for the past several years. The quartet has experience playing concerts, parties, and weddings across New England.
When members of the band were all studying simultaneously at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, City of Four recorded an album of new music. The tracks from this record were recognized by DownBeat Magazine in the Outstanding Performance - Blues/Rock/Pop Category of their 37th Annual DownBeat Student Awards in 2014.
Saxophonist, Mike Caudill, received an award from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) for his composition Time to Go, which was recorded by City of Four. This track was also awarded second place in a recent “best master” contest in Mix Magazine.
Drummer, Lucas Apostoleris, received an award from the Jazz Educator’s Network (JEN) for his composition September Again, which was also recorded by City of Four.
Originally based in Amherst, City of Four now operates out of Boston, Massachusetts
