Paris, 1942: With Nazi forces tightening their grip, Jewish jeweler Joseph Haffmann turns to his trusted employee Pierre for help. Pierre agrees to hide him in the shop, for an unusual price. In what follows, Joseph struggles to save his culture, his humanity, and ultimately his life. “Adieu Monsieur Haffmann” blends suspense, intimacy, and dark humor in a story about the choices people make under extraordinary pressure.
"Adieu Monsieur Haffmann" has won France's highest awards for professional live theater, and its 2022 film adaptation has been screened at over 80 Jewish film festivals worldwide. We are presenting the original touring production, featuring a five-actor French and German cast with fully realized sets, props, and lighting. The performance is accompanied by English captions projected overhead, opera-style.
Tickets start at $25 and are available for purchase at bostontheatrescene.com
