Spring is the perfect time to grab your sketchbook and get outside to look more closely at the new life bursting out around you. Sketch along with Jean Mackay, author and illustrator of The Nature Explorer’s Sketchbook, for a fun exploration of spring things, colors, and patterns. Jean will share activities and tips to get you ready to head outside this spring.
Bring paper and a pencil, colored pencils, crayons, or markers to this session. Jean will share nature objects to sketch or your can bring your own. This session is especially suited to the 8+ old artist, explorer or nature lover in your world (and adults who have wanted to try nature journaling).

Artist and educator Jean Mackay has been exploring and sketching nature for more than 25 years. Working in all kinds of settings, from tide pools to farm fields to her own backyard in Upstate New York, Jean’s nature journals reflect a keen eye for detail and profound sense of wonder. She teaches each summer at the Hog Island Audubon Camp in Maine.
