There are a lot of Zoom concerts featuring one voice and one guitar. Most of them are pretty good.
But if you’re looking for something a little different and a bit more lively, check out a free Zoom concert sponsored by the Chelmsford Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 6:30 p.m.
The show features local singer-songwriter Howie Newman, one of the most engaging performers on the New England acoustic music circuit and a former Sun sportswriter. Newman performs Classic Rock covers and funny original songs (suitable for all ages). It’s a high-energy, fun, interactive show with a bit of humor and audience participation.
Registration is required. To register, click on https://chelmsfordlibrary.libcal.com/event/6795846
The concert is open to all who register, regardless of geographic location.
“It’s definitely not the traditional, laid-back folk show,” says Newman. “I like to keep things up-tempo, do some rock covers and get the audience involved. The idea is to play music that people enjoy and have fun.”
