This workshop will outline the process of producing a song from a songwriter and/or composer perspective on Ableton. It will provide some of the best practices for producing a song with at least two contrasting sections, utilizing groove writing techniques and arranging with MIDI/audio instruments. This workshop is open to anyone who is interested in writing, producing or engineering songs and aims to promote collaboration between musicians of different backgrounds and experiences.
Alper Tuzcu is a composer, producer, guitar player and a singer from Istanbul, Turkey.
His first album “Between 12 Waters” features 8 different vocalists and was released through Palma Records in 2016. As a composer and a guitar player he performed at Institute of Contemporary Art-Boston, Hard Rock Cafe Boston, Sidewalk New York, YouBloom Festival in Los Angeles, Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy and City of Arts and Sciences in Spain.
As an educator, he taught music production courses at Harvard University (under Digital Media Academy), and also taught songwriting and music production masterclasses at United States, Spain, Austria, Turkey and Sri Lanka. Alper has led several music production projects at iZotope, and currently he is a music consultant for Adva Mobile.
