Park Sounds Boston - a FREE public concert series - comes to Winthrop Park in Harvard Square on the last Friday of each month from June through October. Each night features three emerging local musical artists on stage set in the tree-shaded park next to the cobbled walkway of Winthrop Street in front of Grendel's Den Restaurant & Bar, where park-side dining is available. Charlie's Kitchen & Grendel's Den will also be grilling and serving Otter Creek beer on Winthrop Street. Come eat, drink, and listen to some groovy tunes, play lawn games, or chill out with some coloring pages by Dorchester artist Belfast.

ABOUT PARK SOUNDS
Two years ago, Joe Froeber's band played a record release concert in Winthrop Park in Harvard Square. It was the amazing vibe of playing in a open, public space that inspired Joe to envision a whole new concept of a music venue for local artists and their fans. At a time when the city is seeing opportunities for artists to perform dwindle, even as area schools and conservatories are developing so much incredible talent, Joe realized that he could make something happen for everyone in the Boston music scene by simply using public green space.
Partnering with the near by independent businesses, who were eager to enliven their neighborhood with high-quality arts events, Park Sounds Boston kicked off in July of 2017, producing three concerts throughout the season. Sponsorship support from Grendel's Den, Charlie's Kitchen and Otter Creek Brewing, and booking support from local singer-songwriter Aubrey Haddard enabled Park Sounds to expand to five dates in the Summer and Fall of 2018, add a beer garden and barbecue on Winthrop Street, and arrange with the City of Cambridge to permit the events for the last Friday night of each month.
The performers are top-notch, spanning different genres, sometimes large acts, sometimes a solo or duo. Park Sounds is committed to providing the community free live music while always paying the artists professional rates, so support from businesses and individual who believe in this project is welcomed and appreciated!
