All MBTA services will be free again this year for travel on New Year's Eve and the first few hours of 2024.
Service will be free on all modes after 8 PM. Additional staff and ambassadors will be available to assist riders.
All subway lines will operate until approximately 3 AM on New Year's Eve.
Subway will run on a Sunday schedule, with increased service after 3 PM.
Bus and The RIDE will run on a Sunday schedule.
Charlestown Ferry (F4) route service ends at 6 PM.
Commuter Rail will run on a weekend schedule.
"The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is advising the public to plan ahead for the New Year’s holiday, to drive sober and to take note of holiday schedules," officials said.
Fares will not be collected after 8 PM on all MBTA modes of transport.
