Dr. Dubovoy´s lecture will address the conditions required to nurture a balanced, happy and healthy child. The first six years of life are a pivotal period when children are building the capacity for self-regulation, a quality which is essential in order to facilitate a strong character and personality. In a world whose speed and complexity are ever increasing and more challenging, parents and schools are called on to collaborate in the creation of developmentally appropriate environments for young children based on simple but profound principles like order, beauty, and freedom of choice. These "prepared environments" are a vital component of children's early experience in the world. In combination with other factors, they can help children to attain balanced, productive lives and the healthy mental, emotional and physical development that we wish for every new generation.

About Our Guest Speaker:
Dr. Silvia Dubovoy, is a world-renowned Montessori trainer who founded in 1996, The Montessori Institute of San Diego in La Jolla, California. Dr. Dubovoy was also a founding member of the first Montessori School in Mexico City, where her four children attended from Primary to Elementary many years ago. She has a Master and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Universidad de Barcelona, Spain. She is a Primary and 0-6 Teacher Trainer for Association Montessori Internationale. As a trainer, consultant, lecturer and examiner, she travels all over the world giving lectures, and training programs. Her teacher training style is heavily influenced by her work with Dr. Carl R. Rogers a humanistic psychologist.
