Praised for their “extraordinary fervor, commitment, and technical prowess”, the Kurganov-Finehouse Duo have performed at venues like Merkin Hall, Boston Conservatory, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Their recent album features the complete Brahms Violin Sonatas on historic instruments (Hänssler Classics), which was featured in The Strad Magazine (Feb. 2024). Daniel and Constantine have been collaborating since 2015, primarily out of their shared passion for legato, cats and donating money to Wall St.
The Storms Within - Two master composers, each wrestling with inner turmoil and external upheaval. Beethoven’s Sonata No. 7 in C minor emerges from a profound personal crisis as he confronts deafness head-on. In striking contrast, Debussy’s Violin Sonata, composed amid illness and the shadows of World War I, offers an intimate portrait of vulnerability, and emotional intensity. Closing the program, Amy Beach’s Romance provides a lyrical and heartfelt moment of beauty from a pioneering American voice.
