Give a Child in Need a Home for Foster Care Awareness Month
Home for Little Wanderers partners with South Shore YMCA to offer foster care information sessions
The Home for Little Wanderers will be offering information sessions at South Shore YMCA locations in May for people interested in learning about becoming adoptive or foster parents as part of Foster Care Awareness Month. Those interested in learning about becoming foster or adoptive parents can attend the free, virtual or in-person information session on Monday, May 24, 2021:
o 9AM-12PM and 3-6PM, South Shore YMCA Quincy (79 Coddington St)
o 6:30-7:30PM virtual (https://thehome.zoom.us/j/99962608860) or in-person at South Shore YMCA Quincy (79 Coddington St, Quincy, MA 02169)
As of December 2020, in Massachusetts, there were over 8,600 children in state foster care and over 3,400 children with a goal of adoption. Over 1,200 of these children have no identified adoption resource such as a relative or foster parent.
