What happens when one of Portugal’s most flavorful dishes meets four very different styles of American wine? Join internationally renowned sommelier Bertil Jean-Chronberg for a delicious 90-minute experiment in food and wine pairing, built around Portuguese Piri Piri chicken and four contrasting American wine styles. Together, we’ll explore how acidity, fruit, texture, alcohol and sweetness interact with the heat, spice and savory flavors of Piri Piri chicken, and discover why some combinations sing while others simply don’t.


There are no intimidating tasting rules and no “wrong” answers. Just 12 guests around the table, four wines, great food and an opportunity to taste, compare, discuss and decide which pairing works best for you. Because at Bonde our tasting events aer about learning through pleasure: informative, interactive, relaxed and never pretentious.

We're Bonde Fine Wine Shop and Tasting Bar. We're a small wine shop in Harvard Square that specializes in eco-responsible wines, primarily from the US, and neo-artisan accessories. We also are a tasting bar, where you can come and sit for a flight of wines with food anytime we are open.
