Join us for IFMA Boston's inaugural one-day conference at Bentley University, which will provide you with the key strategies, technologies and best practices to help navigate the ever-changing FM landscape. The conference will commence with breakfast and registration and will be followed by a keynote address by Deborah A. Easton, Communications Skills Consultant with Kent State University entitled, "You're Moving My Cheese Again?" – The Human Side of Change.

The Keynote will be followed by a series of 20 minute tech talks:

MathWorks' FM & IT Staff Get Real about CMMS for Multi-Campus Use In late 2016, as its second campus was being built, MathWorks began evaluating computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to help better control assets, workflow, and vendors.

The evaluation team included staff from the IT and facilities departments, and each team had very different points of view. Facilities wanted features, customization, and mobile applications while IT looked for stability, support, cost, and data security. Could the two sides make it work? (Short answer: yes.)

This TechTalk will discuss the CMMS selection and implementation process and show that both perspectives have merit—and that FMs and IT can collaborate successfully.

Presented by: Craig Lizotte, P.E., Senior Manager, Facilities Engineering, Mathworks and Lori Costa, Business Application, MathWorks

How Building a New Campus Has Shaped the Future and Culture of Citizens Bank How do you design a workplace that fosters engagement, productivity, health and well-being, and the cross-pollination of work? Is it really possible to create an environment that accomplishes all of this and more—like challenging people to think and behave differently?

Citizens Financial Group faced these questions during the design and opening of its new 425,000sf campus in Johnston, Rhode Island, in 2018.

In this TechTalk, you'll learn how Citizens and its partner—MovePlan Group—solved for these issues by employing active and sustainable design concepts, planning and delivering a change management program, and rationalizing what success would look like.

Presented by: Steve Elias, Head of Workplace Experience & Accessibility, Citizens Bank, Hugh Peltz, Head of Procurement and Property Corporate Services, Citizens Bank and Kim Giles, Project Director, North America, MovePlan Group

BCBSMA Finds (and Manages) Treasures in Storage Most companies can relate to those "scary" rooms where excess furniture, fixtures, and equipment live. The overflow can take up valuable real estate. Plus, poor asset management can result in useful items going to waste and/or becoming damaged.

The good news? There is a better way to manage their assets, as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts discovered firsthand when a lease renewal provided an opportunity to explore different options.

In this TechTalk, you'll learn what to keep in mind when evaluating storage and warehousing processes, including the importance of an online inventory catalog, why switching to a variable cost model makes sense, how to minimize estimated total spend, and more.

Presented by: Carolyn Manoukian, FMP, Design & Construction Manager, Real Estate & Design, BCBSMA and Ray Theberge, Senior Vice President, Colonial Systems

Walking the Walk: Transformative Workplace Management Technologies at PTC As a leader in IoT and augmented reality (AR), PTC wanted to use the most advanced technologies to manage its own real estate.

Given the fact that PTC’s systems are used by virtually all major building systems manufacturers and suppliers, they wanted to utilize all of their technologies to leverage those relationships to demonstrate their efficacy and even experiment with and improve PTC’s products.

In this TechTalk, leaders from PTC, Margulies Perruzzi Architects, and CrowdComfort, Inc. will discuss the results, including the challenges and benefits of incorporating disruptive technologies into PTC's new global headquarters in Boston's Seaport District.

Presented by: John Civello, Global Vice President of Corporate Real Estate and Workplace, PTC, Marc Magulies, FAIA, LEED AP, Principal and Senior Partner, Margulies Perruzzi Architects and Eric Graham, Co-Founder and CEO, Crowd Comfort

Lunch will be provided.

Following lunch, the attendees will have two afternoon sessions where they can select between two career development sessions, an FM certifications information session, and/or a tour of Bentley’s LEED certified hockey arena. Those selections will be made on IFMA Boston’s FMForward conference app. You will be sent a link to download the app shortly after you register.

The day will conclude with a cocktail reception from 4-5 PM.
