Mahmud Nasir, an East End Muslim and a loving husband and father makes a shock discovery after his mother dies: he was adopted and his birth certificate states he is Jewish. The discovery triggers an identity crisis as Mahmud searches for answers, and he finds himself taking lessons in `Jewishness' from a drunken Jewish cab driver.
