Join us for a film screening and discussion of Kenneth Tam’s half hour video installation 'Breakfast in Bed'(2016). The film engages with the male body in ways that challenge perceived ideas about masculinity and presumed social behaviors among males.
Kishonna L. Gray, PhD, MLK Visiting Scholar in Women & Gender Studies and Comparative Media Studies/Writing at MIT will lead a post-screening discussion to look at the stereotypes and tropes that are socially constructed to define masculinity today and how these definitions are applied to race, class and sexuality. This program is free and open to all, but RSVP is encouraged. To RSVP, please visit the event page on the List Visual Arts Center website.
