Fight Night Boston: Demetrius Andrade vs Billy-Joe Saunders

Matchroom Boxing USA and Murphys Boxing Promotions announce a major world championship boxing event to be held at Boston’s TD Garden on October 20, 2018. Boston’s biggest fight night will feature three title bouts and a titanic main event with unbeaten WBO Middleweight Champion Billy-Joe Saunders of England facing unbeaten top contender Demetrius Andrade of Rhode Island. Others on the bill include Irish favorite Katie Taylor, the biggest star in women’s boxing and WBA and IBF World Lightweight Champ in a showdown with Brooklyn-based Cindy “Checkmate” Serrano, WBO Featherweight Champ who hasn’t lost a fight since 2012. The big night also includes an IBF world Super-Featherweight championship bout between Tevin Farmer and James Tennyson; an IBF world Featherweight title eliminator match featuring Kid Galahad and Toka Kahn Clary; and a Super-Lightweight bout featuring Quincy native Ryan Kielczweski will clash with Tommy Coyle.

This historic fight night will also feature two first responders battling for victory. Former U.S. Marine and Afghanistan veteran Mark ‘Bazooka’ Deluca, a Super-Welterweight from Whitman, Mass. will fight a rematch against Walter Wright of Seattle in a 10-round bout for the NABA title that Wright took from Deluca in a controversial decision this past June. In addition to O’Connor and Deluca’s bouts, Niall Kennedy, a police officer from Gorey, County Wexford, Ireland will face New Jersey’s Brendan Barrett in a six round undefeated showdown.
