Newton Centre Green will be buzzing with music, arts & crafts and activities for kids this weekend! Young kids can enjoy themselves on the kiddie amusement rides all weekend, while the whole family can enjoy the music and dance performances on the stage in the middle of the Newton Center gardens, as well as browsing the many outstanding juried craft vendor booths.
Bring Mom for a special Mother’s Day treat of exciting performances all day: Indian music & dance; Bollywood Zumba; Chinese; Caribbean entertainment; Flamenco dance; Vietnamese Martial Arts, Turkish & World Fusion music; and the fabulous Dr. Hankus Netsky and The New England Conservatory Jewish Music Ensemble to end the terrific day of entertainment! On the Newton Center Green also, there are demonstrations by the Asian American Leadership Network presenting "The Spiritual Art of Chinese Calligraphy and Tai Chi"; and a ‘Hands On’ an African & Indian Activity Booth, with a demonstration of beading of the Maasai Tribe in Africa, by Isaya Oleporuo, a Maasai warrior from 10am – 12pm; followed by coloring Indian folk drawings and printing with Indian blocks with Lakshmi Narayan Kadambi of “Thinkfolk”. Don’t miss the cricket game and demonstration on the Newton Center Playground (Tyler Terrace) at 2pm – organized by SEDFOB INC. & Massachusetts State Cricket League. Festival admission is free.
