Ensemble 44 presents Music for St. Cecilia to celebrate the patroness of music, Feb. 9, 6 pm at St. John's Arlington (MA). A light supper at 7 is included. Tickets: $20 per person.


The program features the baroque composers Isabella Leonarda (Sonata Prima), Johann Schein (Suite II from Banchetto Musicale), and Henry Purcell (Welcome to All the Pleasures). The ensemble members include Chris Talbot, baritone, and Kendra Comstock, soprano; Nouri Newman, woodwinds; Ishmael Stefanow-Wagner, violin, and Hannah Davidson, viola da gamba; and Kathleen McDougald-Lee, harpsichord.


Doors will open at 5:30 PM. The concert is from 6 to 7 in the sanctuary. A light supper downstairs in the Parish Hall will follow. Please stay and join the musicians and other patrons for good food and conversation. Both concert and supper are included in the price of admission, $20. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at https://Cecilia.bpt.me. The entrance to the Sanctuary is at 74 Pleasant Street (Rte. 60) in Arlington Center.
