/// EMW'S SUMMER STAGE: A FUNDRAISER ///

We are incredibly excited to invite you to EMW’s SUMMER STAGE, our first summer fundraiser as a nonprofit! At EMW’s Summer Stage, we will showcase a variety of music and spoken word performances, featuring post-colonial pop singer Saraswathi Jones, hip-hop/jazz producer Kansado, a “Biota Beats” presentation from EMW’s Street Bio team, and more. Our fundraiser aims to present all of EMW’s different programs in one night while celebrating a community of artists, writers, technologists, biohackers, organizers, and more. Catered by Fuji at Kendall.

/// ABOUT THE HEADLINER ///

Saraswathi Jones is a Boston-based musician and purveyor of post-colonial pop. Her work draws from the well of South Asian history, culture, and aesthetics and reflects on life in immigrant America. She released the solo EP Lingua Franca in 2013, and fronts Boston band Awaaz Do, who released their debut EP Kite Fight in 2016 and received an Iguana Music Fund grant in 2017 to record their next album. Jones co-founded and co-produces Hindie Rock Fest – an annual music festival in Cambridge, Massachusetts featuring South Asian American artists from a broad array of genres. She currently serves as board president of Girls Rock Campaign Boston, a feminist nonprofit empowering girls through musical performance and education.

/// ABOUT EMW'S SUMMER STAGE ///

Our Summer Stage fundraiser is a unique opportunity for you to experience all of EMW’s amazing programming under one roof while actively supporting the EMW mission. In order for people from marginalized communities to grow as artists, technologists, and everyday people, they need a space in which to be vulnerable and practice their work - EMW provides a safer space for community members to explore and iterate their ideas through workshops, collaboration, and access to resources. We’d love to invite you to ensure the continuation of our numerous programs while enjoying a fun night of music, art, and entertainment!
