Loss, reconciliation, resurrection – Emmanuel Music’s 2019 presentation of “Bach and Harbison” proved to be a moving experience that powerfully resonated with the issues of our time. The world has changed immeasurably since then, and the need for music that offers meaning, sparks reflection, and stirs the heart is more important now than ever.
Emmanuel Music is releasing the live performance video of our “Bach and Harbison” concert on our website for unlimited free streaming until July 11. All the information about the music, the chorus, orchestra, and soloists can be found in the program book. In addition, you are invited to participate in a live interactive video conversation on Saturday, May 30 at 11 a.m.
Saturday's interactive video conversation is an opportunity to engage in a discussion about this music with John Harbison, Artistic Director Ryan Turner, and Emmanuel Church rector Rev. Pamela Werntz. On the final day of the Easter season, this conversation will illuminate some of the extraordinary details of the program, and you will have the opportunity to post questions and offer your own reflections in real time. In addition to our website, the event will also be accessible via Facebook Live and YouTube.
We are deeply grateful to the members of the Orchestra and Chorus, and to the Boston Musician’s Association Local 9-535 of the American Federation of Musicians who have granted permission for this performance to be aired.
