Electric Earth Concerts is delighted to present the Schubert Quintet in C major on Tuesday, August 17 at 7:30 pm at the Meetinghouse in Jaffrey Center. This concert is generously sponsored by Grove Street Fiduciary.
Franz Schubert’s revered Quintet in C major for Strings with two cellos has never been performed at Electric Earth Concerts—until now. One of the most popular and powerful works of string chamber music in the repertoire, Schubert’s final, posthumously published Quintet will be the single work on the program. Performed by David McCarroll and Gabriela Diaz, violins; Jonathan Bagg viola; Mickey Katz and Robert Burkhart, cellos.
Schubert's only full-fledged string quintet, it has been praised as "sublime", "extraordinary", possessing "bottomless pathos," and is generally regarded as Schubert's finest chamber work as well as one of the greatest compositions in all chamber music.

Admission is $30, payable online or at the door. Or, weather permitting, bring a chair or a blanket, sit outdoors for free, and listen from outside enhanced by our excellent sound system.
