EL DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS CAR PARADE AND FESTIVAL
This is a thoughtful celebration honoring our Ancestors and departed loved ones.

Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) to host The 7th Annual “Día de los muertos”, this year celebrating the lives of COVID-19 victims and honoring Pandemic first responders. Activities will take place on November 1st. From 11 AM to 7 PM.

Parade encouraging people to get out and vote from 2 PM to 3PM
The theme for the Car Parade is “Get out and Vote”. People can decorate cars with paper flowers, skulls and signs encouraging people to get out and vote. (Political Propaganda will not be allowed). Keep in mind this is El Dia de Los Muertos, not Halloween.

Parade starting point: Central Square Park on Border St.
Route: Meridian St. towards Maverick train Station, make a U-turn on Maverick Square and come back to Meridian St. The parade will end at Liberty Square shopping Mall Parking Lot.

Altar Honoring Lives Lost to Covid 19 on display from November 1St. Through Nov 6th.
The offering Altar will be created by the Mexican traditions committee to honor ancestors and loved ones who have lost their lives to COVID 19.

Veronica Robles Cultural Center invites folks to share an image with the hashtag #diademuertosvrocc. When we see your hashtag, we will then celebrate the loved one with a cempazuchitl, the traditional Mexican flower of the dead at our Center’s Altar. Alternatively, you can email [email protected] with the loved one’s name and anything else you’d like to share and we will humbly dedicate a flower for them as well.

Individuals, schools, families and organizations can apply for Offering Altar Tours virtual or in person following social distancing guidelines. These are scheduled by appointment via email at [email protected].

Virtual Performances
Enjoy the talent of our local rappers, Folklorico dance and music and Calaveritas literarias which are short & humorous poetic obituaries, one of the traditional activities of the Day of the Dead celebration.
