Take a pair of scissors and cut through my knitting?! Yes! That’s called steeking and it’s an advanced knitting technique which enables you to knit a flat object in the round, e.g. knitting a cardigan in the round and then cutting the center open. In this workshop, you will be introduced to steeking and have an opportunity to practice it. You will learn about yarn selection and understand which types of projects are ideal for steeking. Many knitters are reluctant to use this technique because it seems scary, but it doesn’t need to be! Students will be asked to knit a colorwork swatch beforehand and bring it to the workshop. Level: intermediate. Instructor: Jooe Kim
