Save the Harbor/Save the Bay’s Eastie Beach Bash is a signature free community event held each summer at Constitution Beach in East Boston. Designed to be inclusive, accessible, and welcoming, the Beach Bash creates equitable access to Boston Harbor for the city’s diverse neighborhoods. The event brings together more than 650 participants from across the region—including families from East Boston, the North End, Downtown Boston, Brighton, Cambridge, Revere, West Roxbury, Everett, Quincy, the South End, Dorchester, Needham, South Boston, Saugus, and Winthrop—for a day of outdoor fun and environmental engagement.
Led by Save the Harbor’s trained youth staff and supported by community volunteers, the event features a range of activities including fishing, kayaking, beach games, sandcastle building, a live crab touch tank, face painting, a drum circle, and music. These experiences are designed not only to be fun, but also to foster curiosity about the marine environment and a deeper connection to Boston’s waterfront. The Eastie Beach Bash serves as a model for inclusive, community-driven programming that breaks down barriers to access and celebrates the vibrancy of our coastal communities.
