Celebrate the Easter season in music on Saturday, April 27th at 7pm, 150 Brown Street in Weston, MA. We have curated an evening of music to remember the mission of Jesus Christ, beginning with his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, highlighting his suffering and ending with his resurrection. Vocalists and instrumentalists from the Boston area pass the baton from Vivaldi's grand Gloria to traditional solos, "Be Thou My Vision" and "Were You There?". In the deepest of Christ's sorrows, the organ blares Les Ténèbres by Messiaen, and as an angel appears to comfort him, a solo soprano sings Pie Jesu from Fauré's Requiem. Other featured selections include movements from Handel's Messiah, Bach's Double Violin Concerto, some traditional celtic songs and other choral works. We will have a special display of Easter themed artwork and refreshments following the musical presentation. This production is hosted by the Boston Stake Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and is open and free to the public.
