Discover the joy of yarn-making with an electronic spinning wheel. Portable, accessible, and totally beginner-friendly!

Class Description

Curious about how yarn is made—or looking to try out a new kind of spinning wheel? Join us and Learn to Spin with an Electronic Spinning Wheel in this hands-on workshop that welcomes both total beginners and seasoned spinners.

During this class you’ll get plenty of hands-on time with an EEW 6.1 e-spinner to learn how to operate it and adjust the settings to make the term you want to make. By the end, you’ll have yarn you spun yourself to take home—and the confidence to keep exploring on your own. Plus, completing this workshop also counts as your tool test for using the electronic spinning wheels at Artisans Asylum.

Electronic spinners (or e-spinners) make spinning more accessible than ever: no pedaling required. They’re lightweight, portable, and super easy to use. Whether you’ve never touched fiber before or you’ve spun miles of yarn, this class is your chance to experiment, practice, and discover what these little powerhouse tools can do.

The materials fee for this class is $10. This is separate from the ticket price and is to reimburse the instructor for any tools or materials used in this class. This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts payments in cash or through Venmo.
