Dichroic Glass is what inspired me (Jordan) to begin working with glass. The finished pieces I was creating (as a beginner, none the less) were incredible! Over the past 10 years, I have dedicated countless hours to studying dichroic. Exploring new techniques and developing my skill. The Glass Bar is the only glass school in the Boston area that can guide you through working with dichroic glass with the confidence and knowledge that I have gained over the past 10 years.
The most common questions I receive when working with dichroic glass are 'What is dichroic glass' and 'How do you say it?'
Well, let's start there - it's pronounced "Dye-CROW-ick!," and it is fusible glass that has a thin layer of dichroic film attached to it. The dichroic film is what makes the glass magical. I'll get more into this during class, but for now you should know that each piece of dichroic is one-of-a-kind, which makes it perfect for jewelry making.
During this class, you're going to get it all. I will teach you the history and mechanics of working with dichroic. You will learn
four different techniques of working with dichroic, and create a stunning pendant using each one. I promise you will leave feeling confident with a piece that will have you bragging.
