Dream A Better World Fest


Sunday, August 24th from 2 to 9 p.m. at Warehouse XI in Somerville’s Union Square


A new social justice music festival is coming to the Boston area.


Dream A Better World Fest is centered around the idea that we need to respond to the current times not just as a knee jerk reaction to our federal government and its inhumane policies, but by actually brainstorming and sharing ideas and visualizing how we could create a better world for everyone.


Curated by Melissa Nilles of Boston alt-indie trio Ruby Grove, the all-day event on Sunday, August 24 at Warehouse XI in Somerville features live music, poetry, and speeches and appearances from activists and organizations engaged in community activism and wellness. The fest also spotlights visual artists who have created art, fashion, or other materials that respond to the oppression many of us are feeling.


The multi-genre musical lineup features headliner Evan Greer, plus Ruby Grove, Lonely Leesa and the Lost Cowboys, Why Try, Chris Walton, Linnea’s Garden, and Songs of Liberation. Speakers and presenters include appearances from Mass Peace Action, Fight For The Future, Art Stays Here, Willie for Somerville, Meredith Blankenship (arts), Victor Infante (poetry), Somerville for Palestine, and Extinction Rebellion.


Dream A Better World Fest is exactly what the name implies — the idea that something better awaits if we all pull together and unite for a common good.
