The Dorchester Beach Festival is partially funded via a grant from Save the Harbor / Save the Bay's Better Beaches Grant Program. The goal is to activate our local urban beaches. The Friends of Savin Hill Shores is the organizer. We have hosted large scale festivals, movies, concerts, etc at Malibu and Savin Hill Beaches for almost a decade now.
The event is from 12noon-4pm with focus on families with arts/crafts, games, face-painting, with sponsor DCR, Save the Harbor / Save the Bay, Dot Art, Franklin Park Zoo, MAGIC 106.7, New England Coffee, Boston Fire Department, games by Knucklebones, Giant Bubbles by Bubble Guy Jim Dicheter, Just Water, Rosalita's Puppets, and more!. Location is Malibu Beach in Savin Hill, Dorchester, just off Morrissey Blvd, across from UMass Boston.
