Just a story about a boy and his bunny (well, his creepy man-sized bunny named Frank who has predicted the exact date for the end of the world). One of the first cult classics of the 21st century, Richard Kelly’s DONNIE DARKO premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and, despite an amazing amount of buzz, failed to find a major theatrical release. Though it has gone on to great popularity on home video and in a subsequent ‘director’s cut’ release, in January 2002, the Brattle was one of only a handful of US cinemas to run the film so we are thrilled to bring it back in this new 15th anniversary digital restoration!
