Join Raising a Reader MA as we celebrate 20 years of transforming lives through early literacy. Our annual Dinner with an Author Gala brings together a community of talented authors, prominent supporters, and literacy champions who believe every child deserves the chance to read, learn, and thrive in school and beyond.
Raising a Reader Massachusetts (RAR-MA), is a fantastic early literacy family engagement organization that helps families with young children (birth to age six) develop, practice, and maintain habits of reading together at home. Our model, backed by 35+ years of research, increases access to books and offers support for strengthening the culture of reading at home, significantly improving a child’s prospects for success in school and in life.
To learn more about RAR-MA’s work, check out our segment on NBC Boston’s ‘Hub Today’ with our Executive Director, Christine Ward!
Our signature fundraiser, Dinner with an Author Gala, will take place on May 14th at the Mandarin Oriental Boston. As we celebrate 20 years of transforming lives through early literacy, our annual event brings together a community of talented authors, prominent supporters, and literacy champions who believe every child deserves the chance to read, learn, and thrive in school and beyond. Together, we'll honor two decades of milestones and build the foundation for the next generation of readers.
Featuring over 20 renown authors like Dan Shaughnessy, Celeste Ng and Ben Mezrich, this unique event includes a VIP champagne toast, cocktail hour, dinner and drinks with the authors, a live auction, a compelling fund-a-need, and more, hosted by KISS 108 FM’s Billy Costa and Lisa Donovan! The Dinner with an Author gala provides substantial funding for us to meet the great and growing needs of the 7,500 families we serve across the Commonwealth. With your support, we can continue to uplift the youngest learners in our communities through the gift of literacy needed to directly support RAR-MA’s Red Book Bag rotation, caregiver workshops, provide training and more for the 7,500+ families they serve across Massachusetts. Our work is not just helpful - it is transformational.
