Simply put, we see what we expect to see. The rest falls prey to a virtual blind spot. We all have blind spots; things you don't see despite your best intentions. In business, these can quickly take you off the growth track, even as you work harder and harder. Many breakthrough ideas are ignored or dismissed simply because business leaders are unable to see the value of a new idea that doesn't fit within their current expectations of what will work within their firm or industry. How do we, as business leaders, avoid the blind spot? There is no formula, but by expanding our own consciousness we open ourselves up to seeing more of what there is to see.
