Brian Durkin
User Experience Design Director, LeapFrog Systems
Brian Durkin is a UX Designer with a fine arts background and years of design and development experience prior to his UX focus. He works as a User Experience Design Director for a consultancy in Boston and bases his work on empathy. He likes to educate others about the importance of UX from a strategic perspective and is an advocate for human-centered processes like Agile and LeanUX.
Christine Pizzo
Manager & Senior UX/UI Experience Designer,Intrepid Pursuits
Christine Pizzo is a highly specialized Manager & Senior UX/UI Experience Designer at Intrepid Pursuits with a Master’s Degree in Advertising: Creative Technology/ Experience Design, and over 8+ years creating in the digital space. Currently designs & launches apps: including Principal Designer for Baskin-Robbins first app to be released Oct. 2016, Lead Designer for both an International Pharmaceutical & Telehealth app; and Track Nantucket: an experiential bike touring app uncovering island lore. A nine time pitch winner and Design Sprint Lead for Fortune 100 brands, her passion is derived from enriching a brand’s personality and truth. Her digital focus is strategic thinking and conceptual ideation - developing a brand’s transformational product.
Mark Hazlewood
Product Designer, HubSpot
Mark began his career in 2007 as a software engineer building user interfaces and embedded digital processors for radar systems in Upstate New York. Over time he developed a passion for psychology and design, pivoting his role there to focus on usability engineering and user research. After earning a Master's in Human-Computer Interaction from RIT in 2013, he officially shifted his career into design by becoming a UX Designer at Acquia here in Boston. Mark now works as a Product Designer at HubSpot where he is able to leverage his engineering background to help to improve the user experience of their internal development platform.
Maureen Barlow
Senior User Experience Designer, Harvard Business Review
I have 6 years’ experience in UX, 6 years in eLearning, and over 10 years in web development and design. I have a master’s degree in human factors from Bentley University, with an undergraduate degree in zoology from the University of Rhode Island. Having worked as a user experience designer, front-end web developer, and (way back when) a molecular biology researcher, I bring a unique scientific method understanding to my work.
