Data visualization is the process of communicating data in order to derive actionable insights and tell a story. Creating compelling visualizations can have a make-or-break effect when it comes to the impact of your data.
This hands-on workshop will expose you to foundational concepts related to data visualization. During this workshop, you will:
Explore a new dataset and answer business-related questions using data visualization
Learn and apply data visualization best practices
Work with Tableau
There are no prerequisites for this workshop, but please bring your own laptop.
About the instructor: Sean P. Cornelius earned his Ph.D. in Physics & Astronomy from Northwestern University in 2014. Since then, he has been a research scientist at the Network Science Institute of Northeastern University. His research focuses nonlinear dynamics on networks, control of complex systems, cascading failures, and applications to ecology, cellular biology, and critical infrastructure systems. Dr. Cornelius teaches network science within NEU's Department of Physics, and is a lecturer for the University's Master in Professional Studies in Analytics (MPSA) degree program.
