Join Denise Washington, educator, and descendant of Darby Vassall, and educator Joel Mackall for a walking tour of Beacon Hill. Each stop on this tour reflects a key location in the life of Darby Vassall (1769-1861), a lifelong community activist who endured slavery and seized freedom with his family.
This walking tour starts in front of the Old State House at 206 Washington St, Boston, MA 02109. The tour will make stops at Kings Chapel and the African Meeting House. Participants can expect to walk approximately 2 miles on a mixed terrain of sidewalks and cobblestones in Beacon Hill.
