On Sat, Aug 10th and Sun, Aug 11th, Or Gadish, Amanda Rodrigue, and Alejandro Castro, will be teaching two special, intensive 2.5h workshops on Cuban Casino partner dancing (sometimes called Cuban Salsa). Most people might know of Cuban salsa from Rueda, with a choreographed set of moves and a “caller”. Casino—which is what will be taught here—is the partner dancing that forms the basis of Rueda, but has many concepts and techniques that are distinct from Rueda. Cuban Casino is actually an ancestor of American Salsa (often referred to as LA/NY or On1/On2 Salsa).


Day 1: Basics (Saturday, Aug 10th, 1:30-4pm @ Studio #5)
Any and all are welcome! No partner or previous experience required.
Saturday’s workshop is great for:
Complete beginners with no latin dance experience
Salsa dancers of any level (Cuban Casino technique is uniquely different than On1/On2, and many natural tendencies need to be unlearned)
Intermediate Rueda dancers
Intermediate Casineros who want to learn the opposite role (lead/follow)
