Lauren Clark, author of Crafty Bastards: Beer in New England from the Mayflower to Modern Day, will introduce visitors to the history of craft beer in New England. She will walk through the progress and challenges of creating the perfect pint, from early colonists to modern day. Attendees can expect to learn the differences between common types of brews, and how they came to be.
The lecture will be followed by a tasting of four local beers, from breweries like Ipswich Ale and Newburyport Brewing. Lauren will be available to answer questions, sign copies of her book, and chat about brewing. Come sample local brews, learn some history, and enjoy ifarm’s beautiful, historic barn!
