From Nashville to Quincy, the City of Quincy presents Countryfest on the Common on Sunday, May 15th from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. on the Hancock Adams Common. Musical performances by Daniel Miller, AK Cody, Houston Bernand & headliner Annie Brobst. Bring your own blanket or chair and picnic basket. Beer and Wine can be purchased from Hive Mobile Bar.
There will be line dancing taught by Steve and Laurie Cavanaugh on the grass area of the Common at two specific times during the day. Then, you'll be able to show off the moves you learned by the stage while the bands are playing!
Steve & Laurie Cavanaugh have been dancing as often as possible since their youngest child headed off to college. Starting with ballroom and Latin dancing, they later dropped in on a local line dance class, which soon became a weekly, then a twice a week outing, with Friday night dances soon added to the mix. Steve is a regular instructor at the Hayloft Barn in Sturbridge, Mass and has been an instructor at the annual Floor Filler event, Get-in-Line Rhode Island, Hampton Beach's Country Night and the Boston Line Dance Showdown. There will also be a contest for best Cowboy outfit, best Cowgirl outfit and best Children's Cowboy/girl outfit. Prizes will be given!
