This is a MUSEUM EXPERIENCE - Prepare for a delightfully creepy journey through the eerie exhibit halls as you discover characters from the darker side of cinema. Presented like a wax museum for fans of the genre we exhibit Vampires, Werewolves, Zombies, Demons, Madmen (and women), and all other creatures that go bump in the night represented here by over 60 lifesized hyper realistic reproductions made by Hollywood Special Effects Artists. Creative genius is celebrated here as we present you a with a museum sure to tap into your sense of wonder.
As a TOP attraction in Salem on Tripadvisor.com, we pride ourselves on the hard work that goes into making the museum new and different each year. If you’ve never been and love the darker side of things, do visit and if you’ve been, do come again and see all the changes we’ve made as we add 3-6 new characters every year!
This is a self-guided tour and there are no limits on time spent here.

Perhaps you're a regular CONG enthusiast or maybe you want your first time at Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery to be truly unique. Owner James takes you down to explore the historic underpinnings below CONG with a unique look at characters that aren't on the main level. You'll also learn about James' origins as well as how a character is made for the museum. This exclusive guided portion will conclude with a champagne (or sparkling cider) toast from spooky souvenir goblet in VAULT MACABRE, a large bank vault, now the home of a unique collection of real oddities of antiquity with a fascinating history! Photos and selfies are allowed on this lower level and James will be available for Q&A after. This is an extremely limited private tour event so please make every effort to be prompt as the tour starts precisely at the time you chose. No one under the age of 18 will be allowed on this tour.
