Come enjoy a sneak peek of Convivium's 2026-2027 season (and maybe you will decide you want to sing it with us!) This season Convivium is exploring the motion of ideas and musical styles as we trace the flow of water, looking at how Christmas was celebrated on both sides of the Atlantic, how composers across the English Channel admired and influenced each other, and celebrating the music of Mantua, Ferrara, and Venice as we follow Italy's longest river. We will sing works by Byrd, Tallis, Victoria, and others from our first program. Put on your sight-reading glasses and enjoy this sonorous and laid-back event, which will also feature the most important feature of any Convivium gathering: snacks!
Convivium Musicum is a 20-member a cappella Renaissance Choir based in Brookline. Under Music Director Dr. Allegra Martin, our programs are informed by careful research and scholarship, and our performances are devoted to bringing to life the complex and profound emotional texture of our repertoire. We are an amateur choir who savor the challenge of performing choral works at a professional level.
We are looking to expand our ranks on every voice part. Auditions will be scheduled on the Wednesday evenings of September 9th, 16th, and 23rd. To schedule an audition or for more information, please email [email protected]
