A free one hour virtual classroom session on climate change from MIT Professional Education.
Climate change is a growing concern. Wildfires raging on the West Coast, monstrous hurricanes churning across the Caribbean, rising sea levels… the vast majority of scientists agree that global warming is a factor in these disasters.
At MIT, we know climate change is a big problem. This webinar aims to highlight possible solutions which will combat the effects of global warming. The goal is also to help sort hype from reality and acknowledge that there are many differing views about the long-term effects of how climate change will affect our planet and our lives.
In this one-hour virtual course, participants will learn from MIT faculty expert, Professor Dan Cziczo about:
-The science behind climate change
-The effect of uncertainty on climate solutions
-Adaptation to climate change
-The role of technology in climate change solutions
-Sort through the misconceptions and misinformation
Will the earth warm more than 2 degrees? If so, how do we project the consequences? Which options are most likely to halt predicted change?
