On October 31, City Tap House is getting into the socially-distant spirit of being “basic” by hosting their second annual Basic Witches Halloween Brunch. Culminating another season of a never-ending Halloween, proudly embrace your most predictable behaviors while sporting Uggs and top-knot-in-a-scrunchie.
Even basic witches need nourishment so City Tap will be dishing out a trio of specials: Not-So-Basic Avocado Toast with whipped pumpkin (obviously), sliced avocado, spiced pepitas, brie cheese, candied pecans, dried cherries and maple-cinnamon honey ($12); I’m a Mousse, Duh, a Mean Girls-inspired French toast with pumpkin mousse and whipped cream ($13.50); and, Everything But the Campfire, a chocolate ganache and marshmallow fondue skillet with Graham crackers and pretzels ($10). Prep for your inevitable “ugly cry” by sipping on: You’re a Fresh Witch, a spicy cucumber margarita ($12); Aperol, But Make it Fall, a twist on an Aperol Spritz with Woodford Reserve, lemon juice, maple syrup, bitters and soda ($13); Tito’s Soda, Double Lime ($10); Take a Shot, Honey!, a chilled shot of Jack Honey (who also will be in the house handing out swag to our earliest guests); and, Hazelnut Espresso Martini with house-brewed espresso, hazelnut espresso vodka, Bailey’s and hazelnut crumble ($14).
