Join thousands of Cambridge residents and visitors who will gather on Massachusetts Avenue in front of Cambridge City Hall (795 Massachusetts Avenue) for the City’s Dance Party on Friday, June 27. This event is free and open to the public. Take the MBTA Red Line to Central Square and Cambridge City Hall is two blocks away.

The citywide Dance Party presents a Revolutionary Reunion – Celebrating 250 Years of Revolution.
Discover the innovative history of Kendall Square in Cambridge on a fascinating walking tour led by Michael Kuchta and Karen Weintraub, the co-authors of Born in Cambridge: 400 Years of Ideas and Innovators. This 90-minute tour explores the birthplace of groundbreaking inventions like the sewing machine, the yellow highlighter, and Polaroid’s instant photography, as well as more recent achievements like the Human Genome Project and mRNA vaccines.
Walk through the history of innovation in this dynamic neighborhood, where STEM and entrepreneurship have shaped the world.
The dance extravaganza with DJ spun music is a special opportunity for the entire Cambridge community to celebrate the beginning of summer. After dark, colorful lights will be launched, adding to the magic of the evening. Originally conceived in 1996 as part of the City of Cambridge’s 150th anniversary celebration, the Dance Party attracts young and old to join in the festivities.
